Just Transition Finance Lab: overview of COP29 engagement
Six months after our launch, representatives of the Just Transition Finance Lab will be travelling to COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. We hope that the Baku gathering will provide both a chance to profile some of our latest thinking on finance and the just transition through targeted engagement and advocacy, and an opportunity to reflect and learn from the incredible work of others.
We will bring the key messages from some of our latest work to COP29, including from the following reports (all available on our website):
- Mapping justice in national climate action: a global overview of just transition policies
- How finance can unlock credible, robust and just transition plans
- Unjust minerals: investing in the changes needed for a just transition in the mining sector
And at the conference itself we will be launching Interconnected justice: understanding the cross-border implications of climate transition policies (published for the Taskforce on Net Zero Policy).
The Lab will be represented at COP29 by Nick Robins (Executive Director) and Jodi-Ann Wang (Global Policy Fellow). Please come and meet us at one of the events listed below (schedule confirmed as of 11 November 2024).
And whether you will be in Baku or following this year’s climate negotiations online, we always welcome your comments, insights or questions regarding our work – you can contact Nick at n.v.robins@lse.ac.uk and Jodi-Ann at j.x.wang@lse.ac.uk.
Please note that the times quoted for all events will be local (GMT+4) Azerbaijan time.
