The Strategy Council provides advice and feedback on the Lab’s workplan and sets a vision and strategic direction for the Just Transition Finance Lab. Its members also act as ambassadors for the Lab’s mission to promote just transition across key sectors of the economy.

The Council’s current members are:

Sharan Burrow (Chair)
Sharan was formerly the General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation and the President of the Australian Council of Trade Unions. She sits on the boards of the World Justice Project, The B Team and the European Climate Foundation. She is a Visiting Professor in Practice at LSE and Chair of the Strategy Council.

Professor Stephan Chambers
Stephan is the Director of The Marshall Institute for Philanthropy and Social Entrepreneurship at the LSE and a Senior Research Fellow at Lincoln College, Oxford. He founded the Oxford University’s Executive MBA programme and was its Director from 2000 to 2014.

Rosey Hurst
Rosey is the founder of Impactt, a consultancy specialising in ethical trade, human rights, labour standards and international development. Rosey has led multiple innovations in ethical trade and has worked with many leading companies and organisations. She is a Visiting Professor in Practice at LSE.

Andy Griffiths
Andy has over 25 years of international investment experience. Before setting up the Investor Forum in 2014, Andy was a Senior Investment Professional at Capital Group and M&G. He was also an Operating Partner with Corsair Capital and a Trustee of the MOE Foundation. He is a Visiting Professor in Practice at LSE.

Catherine McKenna
Catherine is Chair of the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Expert Group on Net-Zero Commitments of Non-State Entities and is a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Columbia University’s Climate School. She launched Women Leading on Climate at COP26. She was Canada’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change, leading negotiations of Canada’s first national climate plan. She is a Visiting Professor in Practice at LSE.

Montek Singh Ahluwalia
Montek is an Economist, Civil Servant, and former Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission, Government of India. He was the first Director of the Independent Evaluation Office of the International Monetary Fund, having held a series of positions including Special Secretary to the Prime Minister, Commerce Secretary, and Finance Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. He will become a Visiting Professor in Practice at LSE and support the Lab’s India programme.
